From my understanding this new cider version should allow HL2 to work with all the eye candy so I tried to get it working and... it doesn't seem to be working at all! I even edited the Games.ini file. This is what cider spits out:

I have never seen this error before: err:avifile:AVIFILE_UninitProcess you must call AVIFileExit()

I thought it could have something to do with cider trying to load intro movies (like Valve logo) but I put -novid in the command line parameters and the problem is still there... any suggestions?

EDIT:

I tried removing Valve.avi but it still crashes

I'm getting the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error... but HL2 worked fine with prior versions of cider

Hey, Sh33m4

Mind linking me to 2289 build? I'd like to take a stab at some more ports. Maybe I can get RE4 working properly this time. ^_^

It's announced at the game porting team's homepage:

Click Here

There is also a slight tip on how to use it. Any more info we are still working on.

  • 2 weeks later...
Same here. Runtime Error.

Only this time I'm getting a lot less errors:

Last login: Sat Mar 28 16:32:51 on ttys000
/Users/simonjavora/Desktop/2178.app/Contents/MacOS/cider; exit;
MacBook:~ simonjavora$ /Users/simonjavora/Desktop/2178.app/Contents/MacOS/cider; exit;

[Process completed]

Still no idea what to do, though.

Console spits out this:

28.3.09 16:32:41 [0x0-0x248248].com.transgaming.game /Users/simonjavora/Desktop/Cider 2178.app/Contents/MacOS/cider: cannot find 'C:\Half-Life 2\\Prince of Persia.exe'

Even though I have set the correct path in Info.plist so maybe I need to change the path somewhere else... but I have no idea where.

"cannot find 'C:\Half-Life 2\\Prince of Persia.exe'" ?

Are you sure you set it right in info.plist ?

Try just double clicking the cider in MacOS and see if that loads properly

I did... and it doesn't - I posted what terminal spits out in my previous post.

But here is the Info.plist:
