Hello.

Since Apple wont do it, I wanna make myself an adapter to go from Mini DisplayPort to DVI+3.5mm jack.

I can get all the cables and ports, just need to know what to solder to what.

Can anyone make a diagram for me?

Here are the pinouts of

Mini DisplayPort: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini_DisplayPort

DVI: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

They are on the right side.

Thanks in advance :hysterical: .

It's not just a case of soldering wires, you need a chip to convert the digital signal from displayport to analog audio, and to the digital format of DVI.

Okay. Wish it would be simple. Guess I will just have to wait for an adapter.

Most cards already have that built in for backward compatibility, this is the case for the apple cards that support the aforementioned adapter hence its relatively low price.

The card does makes DVI signal through DP port, the adapter only remaps the pins.

However I'm pretty confident that this pinout is apple proprietary and that you'll be screwed with your own card.

Knowing what you have would help, I could quickly tell from a BIOS dump if your card is at least able to generate TMDS signal (DVI).
