Did you install it finally?

Cos I got stuck in the beginning itself :)

OK guys am new at this but it was inspiring to see some videos of a peruvian guy on youtube with OS X installed on a dell studio 15 so I decided to try. Unfortunately, this guy doesn't share any important hints in their post so apart from inspiring it is totally worthless. Nevertheless, he said he used ideben

I am already posting this notes from my fresh OS X installation  .

I used ideneb 1.5.1 10.5.7 with the following options:

Drivers: ATI 3800 (my video card is actually an ATI HD4570)

Broadcom wirelles (I've found somewhere the drivers are compatible. It works!)

On the chipset category pick AHCI Fix and ICHx Fixed. I also removed Firewire.

I selected IDT Audio but it doesn't work.

Apart from that I cant change my resolution yet. It's 1024x768.

In addition to that I have to boot with the DVD inside the unit and don't touch it till darwin times out. Other way, It doesn't boot.

If I not use the DVD darwin launches my Windows vista partition.

A few notes about partitions:

I used the vista DVD dell provides to re-install VISTA after erasing the C partition and split into two.

Then, I formated those partitions.

I used IMAGEX located in the tools folder of the RECOVERY partition (don't touch RECOVERY partition) to rebuild the system using the WIM image. It's not big deal. The destination disk must be clean and you have your software as new. google imagex and wim files. For this I used the command prompt provided by the vista installation DVD.

Once I had my C and F partitions I moved all the content of the RECOVERY partition to the F (new one).

Then, I used de iDeben DVD to erase and use the ex-RECOVERY partition renamed to OS X which size it's about 15G and install the OS X as I told you before..

I expect it's not confusing.

If someone can activate the Audio or fix the video resolution please post!
