kroeger
Hi, Does anyone have any tips for getting the fonts in OSX to look sharper? Compared to XP they look blurry and bitty!!!!! I have already played around with the font smoothing settings as well as tried Tinkertool. Thanks. kroeger
Come on everyone, am I the only one who has this problem? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1554-blurry-looking-fonts/#findComment-12105 Share on other sites
cyrana
I don't find it a problem, I think the fonts look better, personally. Having said that, there are no options other than what you have in the pref pane and tinkertool. bgmccollum
If you have an LCD, the default setting (Best For Flat Panel) is a little too blurry for me. I set it back to Best For CRT, and things are much crisper. After making changes to the font setting through the System Preferences, you have to restart any running applications to see the changes. Cyman
You can turn off this by using TinkerTool. Just turn off the Font-smoothing for any font of any (chosen) size. Munky^
I'm finding font blur/anti aliasing issues quite annoying too at the moment. I'm comparing Entourage 2004 on OS X with Outlook 2003 on Win - fonts in Outlook on win are not anti aliased at all and perfectly sharp, on Entourage no matter what I set in the application or mess with Font smoothing and turn off Font smoothing in the control panel it still can not produce a perfectly sharp font like it does in Windows. Extremely annoying - if anyone knows of any wat around this please post, thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1554-blurry-looking-fonts/#findComment-24985 Share on other sites
