yelloguy Posted February 22, 2009 Share Posted February 22, 2009 I have a (nearly) fully working Kalyway 10.5.1 install on a laptop and a desktop. I have installed lLife 09 with a hack that changes the version number to 10.5.6. But iTunes quit working so I rolled back the hack after install. Now iTu8nes works but iPhoto refuses to load saying it needs 10.5.6 or higher. I have searched these forums and have seen various ways for going from 10.5.1 to 10.5.6 but nothing that is easy. Should I just download 10.5.6 DVD and install that over it? So I thought I don't need EFI. If I do, what is it, where do I get it and how do I install it? Before you answer this, the rest of the steps don't make much sense to me either. So I think the best thing for me to do woulld be to DL 10.5.6 DVD and restart. barbie Posted February 24, 2009 Share Posted February 24, 2009 i need to install PC EFI 9 so that my computer can use DSDT and as far as i know it can be installed on MBR. you can search this forum for PC EFI 9 installer. but of course you can also reinstall fresh 10.5.6 from any 10.5.6 distro if you think that's the easiest way.
