Rajan Verma
Hi to all big gunz of this field...I finally managed to have Mac OS X x86 10.4.1 on my 915 GLVGL, 3.0 GHz, 1.00 GB RAM, 120GB SATA(40+80) installed....for which I had to sacrifice my Windows XP atonce....I installed with DVD of 10.4.1 n faced absolutely no problem whatsoever. Evrything ....sound, LAN, graphics (1024x768), ...is working fine. I would suggest all those who use MAC, try to have it installed on 1st partition of ur drive n after that have XP installed. MAC recoganise XP installation n u'll b able to boot into XP from MAC...n on the other hand use the chain0 (without altering or modifying anything) method in XP to boot into MAC. Now lookin forward to 10.4.3 or 10.4.5. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/15354-easiest-os-x-x86-installation-with-dual-boot/ Share on other sites
Mebster
Thanks for the advice. I installed XP first and then OSX and did nothing to the chain 0 file and got the following system: When I switch on my pc, I get an OSX screen first, with a 10 sec countdown if no key is pressed to load OSX. If a key is pressed within the 10 secs then an option is given on whether to load OSX or XP. Then you select XP (or OSX if you still want to). --This method seems ideal for main OSX users who want OSX to be the default system. *********************************** I'm assuming if I install OSX first and then XP (and using the chain 0 file) I will get the following system: When I switch on my pc, I get a XP screen first, (with a 10 sec countdown if no key is pressed to load XP - maybe). With the options of entering XP or OSX. Selecting XP will load XP. But I’m uncertain as to what menu would be given if OSX is selected. Will it load right away or give another menu asking to load OSX???? --This method seems ideal for main XP users who want XP to be the default system.
