I'm trying to install the Battery bundle to get my battery life to show, unfortunately I apparently mistyped my SU password and can't access it...

I just want to confirm that my SU is the same as the password I typed during the initial install correct? Thanks for the help in advance, very new to this whole MacOS thing but really want to learn and contribute.

Unfortunately, it is not. The password you typed while installing was your personnal password, used with the "sudo" command. To use "su", you have to enable the root user and set a dedicated password.

Go to the Utilities folder and open netinfo manager. In one of the menus (security, if I remember well), you will see a "enable root user" item. Clic it and follow indications.

Good luck

the su password is another one. like in some linux distros u have to type "sudo passwd root" then enter YOUR password and then the password desired for root. there is also a way setting the password in system preferences, but this way is much shorter :<)

/edit: damn! few seconds too slow^^
