Dell XPS Studio 16 / Radeon Mobile 3870

Sorry if I have created a duplicate thread but i am very curious to find out if the information on the Radeon 3870 for the Desktop is relevant to the Mobile chipset.

 

I would assume from a driver perspective that kext for the desktop would be very similar to the Mobile cept' for power management issues.

 

From what i have been able to decipher from the forums and general google'n is that there is no way to get QE/CI, which I can deal with, the real question here is if using os X will actually damage my laptop or video card ( some people have been talking heat issues), again not really able to tell if they are talking about the Desktop card or the Mobility card.
