Trouble with D-Link DWA-552 Atheros card not connecting on reboot on 10.5.5

I had Kalyway's 10.5.1 installed using my D-link DWA-552 wireless card to connect to my WPA encrypted network. It worked flawlessly. I installed a fresh copy of iDeneb's 10.5.5 (not upgrade) with the same hardward and now my wireless card is acting flakey. When 10.5.5. is first installing and it looks up my existing .mac account, I point it to my network and it has no problem connecting and getting my info. But after it boots to the desktop for the first time, it recognizes there is a airport card installed but it will not connect to my network. When I select my network and type in the password, it says "connection failed" But i can do a network diagnostics and it will repair the connection and everything will work fine. If I save those settings and lock the preferences so they won't change, then when I reboot osx will not auto connect to my network. I can still go in and do a network diagnostics to fix it and that will work but i don't want to have to do this everytime.

I have also noticed that I can point it to my neighbors unencrypted network and it will then find that one every time on reboot. I have not tried dropping my encryption to WEP to see if that will work but I cannot understand why it worked flawlessly in 10.5.1 and not 10.5.5. Could it be a corrupted Network Config file? COuld that be the case right after a fresh install?

Update: The issue seems to be with the WPA encryption. I dropped the router to WEP and now it is working fine. I think it was when the card was trying to do the handshake with the router it just wasn't happening. Someone suggested updating the firmware on my Linksys router to see if that fixes the WPA issue.
