leglez
Ok I have been talking to some people at Anandtech and trying to figure out what is cause the problems with my mouse in 10.5.6. Whenever I have itunes open the mouse lags all over the screen. Someone said it was linked to a bug with the 8x00 series card. Then just recently someone said something about "regressing your Quicktime via a french installer version." He said there was a a thread here but I have searched around and can't find anything. If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. adamsweeting
There's a thread going about this in the Updates section... I had the same problem. I didn't have any problems (like many did) going to 7.5 - but when I updated to 7.6 I got the mouse / system lags. I just lifted the old 7.5 app from a backup - and that solved it. badsubby
I had the problem so removed quicktime because I use VLC and dont open Itunes really. Only way to avoid it as of right now. Also make sure that Itunes doesnt have that blue light underneath. We're just gonna have to wait for a solution. leglez
Any ideas? I found out today that there were 2 different bugs. The one caused by Quicktime and the one caused by the 8x00 series. I have the 8x00 series bug, so any fixes for that? adamsweeting
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=148460 Take the old the QuickTimeComponent.component from a backup (or download), and drop it in. leglez
This isn't the quicktime bug. I have the 8x00 series which causes a bug with itunes. It has nothing to do with quicktime. It is a problem with the 8x00 series video card and itunes. adamsweeting
I've got an 8800GT, and my mouse lagged like hell when I installed the 7.6 QT update (yes... and with iTunes too!). Once I replaced the component, that fixed both QT and iTunes Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/148660-mouse-problems-in-1056-when-using-itunes-related-to-quicktime-andor-8800gt/#findComment-1055139 Share on other sites

Guest ѕиоѡ
Mind you this component replacement can brake other apps that use the component to encode/decode so check your apps. It broke my Wiretap Studio app. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/148660-mouse-problems-in-1056-when-using-itunes-related-to-quicktime-andor-8800gt/#findComment-1056413 Share on other sites
