Panarchy
Hi Can't seem to get iATKOS 10.5.5 to work, tried installing twice (the first without selecting a kernel, the 2nd selecting voodoo 9.5), to no avail. I also can't seem to get iPC 10.5.6 to work, tried installing about three times (once without changing anything, the other times with various differences). Here's what happens, [on both], I boot up (either normally or with -f) and I get a grayed out x near the apple logo. When booting with -v, it says Waiting for root device. [said it about 3 times] Here's a list of what I selected; iAKTOS v5i Main System | Bootloader: PC EFI v9 | x86 patches - Decrypters - AppleDecrypt | SMBIOS drivers - SMBIOS Enablers - SMBIOS-EFI | Disabler.kext | Drivers - VGA - NVidia - EFI strings for NVidia - 8xxx - 8800 GTS 512MB | System - SATA/IDE - Intel AHCI SATA Please tell me what I can do to get either iPC 10.5.6 or iATKOS 10.5.5 to work on my computer. Here are my specs; Case : Antec P182 Power Supply : T.P.3 Trio Antec True Power 3 Trio PSU Motherboard : ASUS P5K-E WiFi CPU : Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4GHz Hard-Drives : Seagate 1TB SATA DVD Drive : SATA 20x Monitor : ASUS VW222U (22'' LCD) Speakers : Altec Lansing VS4121 Keyboard : Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 (wired) Mouse : Logitech (wired) Graphic Card : GIGABYTE NVidia 8800GTS 512MB RAM : Transcend DDR2-800 4GB (2 sticks) Thanks in advance for any help/advice, Panarchy PS: I have gotten hackint0sh to work on my computer in the past, using Kalyway. But seeing as they haven't released an update in a while... EDIT: No longer getting the grayed out x, but now it's getting stuck continuously on this line; Jan 23 06:05:24 localhost mDNSResponder mDNSResponder-176.2 (Aug 15 2008 14:58:54)[22]: starting EDIT2: When booting with -f -v I get this; ERROR: Firewire unable to determine security-mode: defaulting to full-secure SUMMARY/IRC: I am just wondering if anyone could help me out? de_autojohn
make sure your firewire is set of in your bios ! and try to boot with -x -c -v cpus=1 if you don't install the kernel for your quadcore or just -x -c -v when you do install it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/148644-iatkos-1055-fails-ipc-1056-fails-some-help-please/#findComment-1054172 Share on other sites

Panarchy
Oh, we found out that it wasn't a kernel panic. Sorry, but you'll have to start a new thread for your kernel panic.
