DannyDroid
I am thinking about install OSX 10.5 (But if I have to run 10.4 then that is fine). I did a search of and found someone did an install on Equium A200-1V0 but the specs are a bit different to mine so I thought I would post here. I have also done some reading and it does seem fairly easy to install if your hardware is supported on on of the many install discs about though I'm pretty sure I will have to do some bug crushing for myself. What I would like to know is a fair few things. - Can I dual boot with Vista? (I have read about that and it seems like you can but I would rather make sure). - How do I find what hardware I have got and how to find out if it is supported? - How well do you think it will run? I'm not looking for something super fast, I just want a little play really . - Has anyone installed OSX on a Toshiba Equium A200-196? After reading a bit deeper it seems two users have but they have no wifi ): . I hope I posted this in the right place, and I'm sorry for just jumping in being my first post and all. Thank you. Danny. Danny. - Yes dual booting isn't a problem, but it depends how yu setup yuor partitions. - You should run Everest in windows and it will tell you awhole bunch of info. - It will run very well, on my measly 1.8ghz pentium dual core it boots in about 30seconds and everything is a breeze even with only a 8400GS gfx card, - Dunno whos installed on that but a forum search and you should get more info. Chexck in the driver section to see if there's a driver for your wifi. Looking at your specs you should be able to get a distro working fine, I recommend iPC 10.5.6 as it has lots of driver choices and a choice of kernels etc and the novice user just has to tick a few boxes instead of installing kexts etc which requires some more advanced knowledge. DannyDroid
Sorry to double post but I've had a good read over the last few weeks since I last posted here of the forums and wiki. I am thinking about using iDeneb. I have read about how to install it and what it will look like, the one thing I am confused about is the customizing part, I have no idea what to tick. I have run cpuz and here is the info it gave me; http://danny.nitrolinken.net/dannys-laptop-cpuz.htm Would someone be able to to me which options to tick? Danny.
