I can't boot! I've tried everything (but can get in using the DVD)

I must be doing something wrong. I can install both iATKOS and iDeneb and use the installation by inserting the DVD and entering rd=disk0s1 etc etc.

I cannot for whatever reason get the machine to boot otherwise.

The machine has a RAID-0 which is 2x320GB and contains just 2 partitions. Partition 1 is HFS+ and 2 is NTFS (Vista 32 Ultimate)

I have used fdisk to flag partition 1, quit, reboot and this doesn't work. the partition is definitely type=AF, and the bootsector is 0xAA55 so I think that's right.

oh, its an MBR and not a GPT.

The same problem occurs if I try the CHAIN0 method.

Normally I'll see:

BOOT0: MBR

BOOT0: DONE

and then the machine hangs, but will respond to ctrl-alt-delete for a reboot

I also see the BOOT0 messages before getting to the boot menu if I use the vista one.

So, what am I missing?
