alnova1
I keep getting a reboot upon trying to install 10.5.6...I haven't even been able to install it, it just keeps rebooting on darwin with the install disk in. I had this problem posted and someone told me to "Check No Exectuable (nx/xd) "enabled" in your bios"...I am not the smartest person in the world but I can do some things but I cannot find anything like this in my bios. I have a MSI P6NGM motherboard with a NVIDIA GeForce7050 / nForce610i chipst (which I wished I would have never gotton now). My bios is AMI. mcdrama
since you have such a tasteful avatar try going in to your BIOS and selecting the following menu from the main screen: Advanced BIOS Features->CPU Feature You should see it there. alnova1
I guess im not as stupid as I thought. I went to that and changed it and it didn't help. Still endless reboot with the install disk. alnova1
I have tried them all. Idenbi 10.5.5...XxX osx86 10.5.6...Kalaway 10.5.2..IPC 10.5.6... I did somehow get Idenbi to install 1 TIME but after it installed I just got an endless boot just like the install disk so I just formatted and re-installed windows. Any Ideas? insomnimac
OK I use iPC personally but on Intel machines. Does it just reboot or does it just hang at spinning circle with Apple logo? Boot off each DVD and hit F8 then type in -v, then take a photo if you can and post up. Then I can see what's wrong with each DVD and which one should get you the best benefits. alnova1
There is nothing to take a photo of...I have tried the -v and once you see starting darwin, it reboots and then the same thing happens over and over. It never comes close to the apple logo. insomnimac
If you use -v itl never go to spinning circle or apple logo. Sounds something is very fubar if it just restarts instead of coming up with a kernel panic in text. I'd be checkig your bios settings, making sure your drives are in AHCI NOT IDE mode, any power settings are disabled and sleep mode is on S3 (STR). alnova1
Tried that and no luck. I came across a post last night of a guy that had my same MotherBoard and he said it was impossible to get this MB to work. I am starting to think he was right Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/148312-i-know-im-stupid-but-what-is-this-and-where-is-it-in-bios/#findComment-1051572 Share on other sites
alnova1
I remembered seeing a post one time telling someone to type in cpus=1 on install start up, so i did that and it is trying to install now. We will see after installation. alnova1
I just installed but I just get the Apple logo and the spinning wheel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/148312-i-know-im-stupid-but-what-is-this-and-where-is-it-in-bios/#findComment-1052185 Share on other sites
insomnimac
Press F8 before boot and then you'll need to type 'cpus=1 -f -v' upon first boot. alnova1
That didn't help either. I did a fresh install and tried it upon first reboot and it still just locks up. Should I have installed the cpus=1 fix on the IPC install disk? I have a intel Q6600 with a P5K-vm board and it was a breeze installing XxX 10.5.6. I think I might try to sell this as a WINDOWS ONLY UNIT! :censored2: Thank you for your help insomnimac

Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/148312-i-know-im-stupid-but-what-is-this-and-where-is-it-in-bios/#findComment-1052257 Share on other sites
insomnimac
Yeh cpus=1 fix should be installed and you should try the voodoo kernel insterad of choosing none and using vanilla, unless you can boot off the dvd with vanilla flag. alnova1
Same thing...I give up! I might be doing something wrong but like I said, I have one running perfect on a P5K-VM.
