TB_206
Hi everybody I have been using OSX 10.5.1 on an old IBM T41 some time ago with nearly everything working perfectly, but now I wanted to try it on my Zepto laptop. It's installed just fine using vanilla kernel and NVInjectGO. But here is the problem. It boots just fine, it starts the GUI - but then something goes wrong. I can see the cursor in the top left corner and I can mode the cursor around, but i do not get the background and the login window If I boot into safe mode (using -x) then it's showing the GUI correct, I get background and I get the login window. Can anybody help me with this issue? Laptop specs are: Intel 945PM/ICH7-M chipset Core Duo 2.0GHz nVidia GeforceGO 7300GS 256Mb (it might be a 7600 can't remember..) Intel 2200 IPW wireless Realtek HD sound 120Gb HD on SATA DVD drive on PATA Sorry forgot about distro It's Kalyway 10.5.2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/148295-installed-but-trouble-booting/ Share on other sites
realityiswhere
NVinjectGo is causing issues for your system. When you're booted in -x go to /System/Library/Extensions/ and move the NVinjectGo.kext to the desktop, then delete the /System/Library/Extensions.mkext FILE (not the Extensions folder), then reboot. You won't have hardware acceleration (it'll be like safe mode) but you'll be able to download/try other methods. Great I'll try that right away It might be an nvinject issue though as I have also tried with the normal nvinject.
