A_Pickle
Alrighty then... ...I've successfully installed and even run Mac OS X 10.4.5 (once) on my box, but upon shutting down and then restarting, I've found that I am faced with the seemingly ever-persistent "HFS+ Partition Error" message. Now, insofar as I am aware - the Mac OS X partition is a primary one. I can't actually check, as I've tried the "cfdisk" method using an Ubuntu Linux Live CD. Whenever I go into the terminal of Ubuntu and type "cfdisk," I get a message that says; "Opened disk read-only - you have no permission to write." I then hit "Enter," and then hit one of the arrow keys to be confronted with the following screen (I tired to get a good screenshot, but alas, I oculdn't write the Ubuntu screenshots to my thumb drive -- I didn't have write permissions): Soo.... *cough* ...I dunno what to do. :/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14824-bloody-hfs-error/ Share on other sites

antrunix
You forgot to use Ubuntu terminal in ... superutilisateur (in french). Root in english? You normally have the choice between the two : User Terminal or Root terminal...and you don't have to type any password. /es
Make sure your Mac OS X partition is actually type AF. Make sure by running this program. If you want to login as a root in Ubuntu, type sudo su It shoudn't prompt you for a password. Did you install Mac OS X through an extended/logical partition? nickytl
to use cfdisk i think you need to type in the drive address other wise you are just looking at the cd which is naturally readonly. cfdisk /dev/hda or for me with sata its cfdisk /dev/sda Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14824-bloody-hfs-error/#findComment-100148 Share on other sites
