trojanfoe
Hi there, I wonder if anyone can shed some light on installing the iPC 10.5.6 distro (with PPF3 applied) on an MSI P35 Neo (MSI part MS-7360). I have a Core 2 Duo (E8400) installed and if I boot with no kernel boot options I see the Apple symbol and then nothing happens. If I supply 'cpus=1' then I see the Apple symbol and the rotating (wait) sign underneath but then nothing more happens. I have tried disabling/enabling lots of BIOS settings but nothing makes a difference. I have booted with '-v cpus=1' and taken a picture of the screen. Note that I waited about 10 minutes and did not see any 'still waiting for root device' messages. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=b6c8558...04e75f6e8ebb871 I checked the MD5 hashes during each installation of the ISO PPF patches and wrote at both 4x speed and then tried 1x speed. This m/b contains a SATA and a PATA controller (Marvell - I don't know what the SATA controller is). I have a disk attached to SATA and one to PATA (where a new partition is waiting for the installation). The DVD drive is also attached to the PATA (a Pioneer DVR-115DBK). I read on the OSX86 Wiki that Hackintosh has only been successfully installed on this m/b using the Kalyway 10.5.2 install, but that just reboots while starting Darwin/X86. I have also been unable to start any alternative kernels (sleepkernel for example) - trying any results in the boot process returning to the 'press Enter to boot or F8 to enter options' prompt. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Andy Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/147817-ipc-1056-installation-on-msi-p35-neo-mb/ Share on other sites
srg70
Yes, it is right for my configuration also. I have Gigabyte with nForce 630i but can't boot and can't change kernel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/147817-ipc-1056-installation-on-msi-p35-neo-mb/#findComment-1062166 Share on other sites
