Hi

After I failed to install Leo on my old notebook (Compaq HP nx8220) here I thought I'd try one more on my main development PC.

It has such a configuration

MB: P5N-E SLI nForce chipset

RAM: 4GB

HDD1: Seagate Barracuda 320Gb, Sata - here installed OSx

HDD2: Raptor 300GB, Sata

HDD3: Maxtor 300Gb, Sata

DVD drive - Sata

GPU: nVidia GeForce 8800GTS 320Mb

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850

First I tried with iAtkos 10.5.5 - failed while loading from DVD with error "Still waiting for root device"

Then, I loaded JaS OsX 10.5.5 - again failed with same error.

Last, was iDeneb 1.3 10.5.5 - here I was surprised when it start loading ok, after disk utility I remember I selected some checkboxes in Configuration (can't remember, sorry). It installed ok, but when loading it failed again with error "Still waiting for root device". I was almost to give up forever, but I said, one more chance, but let's check carefully the drivers.

I went again with iDeneb, again in Configuration I checked everything related to ASPI, video. Installed, and voila it loaded Mac OS. Damn I was happy like a kid :))

Being a developer I started to click everywhere to see the features. First think I always do in fresh installation of Windows is update it. So, here I tried the same, I found the update option and started to download 10.5.6, it installed ok, but it won't load anymore the OS :(

Here is the error I get, after that nothing happens. If I start without -v option, then after a while I get a message that PC must be restarted, and this happens forever.

If anyone has any idea how to fix this that would be great.

If not, I'll install again but won't upgrade :)

Well actually before installing again I'll try to install the Kalyway 10.5.2 to see how far it goes.

So, today it was a good day after all, I finally saw on my PC the MacOS.

BTW, anyone knows, can a hackintosh be used to develop applications for iPhone. Would Apple's software work ok on it?

Thx

  • 2 weeks later...

go to SYSTEM>LYBRARY>CORE SERVICES. Open the file SystemVersion.plist(just in case make a back up) and change the 2 values 10.5.5 to 10.5.6. no u should be able to put iwork 09 on your hackintosh. you can actually update further your mac. And most importantly you can put ilife09!

enjoy
