Hey all,

I bought an asus x59gl ( http://www.simplyasus.com/ASUS_X59GL-AP007C_450683.html )

the other day with views to use it as a transportable work machine for uni, travelling and other things. I thought since I'm downgrading it to winxp from vista (yuck) I'd have a crack at putting OSX on it at the same time, now I know it has a geforce chipset and this could be the main problem but it seems I should get an error of some sort rather than what I do get...

Basically I have made the laptop boot off the Kalyway 10.5.2 CD which worked brilliantly in my PC, the laptop sees the installer, it starts it, a load of information comes up (no errors that i can see with -v) and the final message I get is:

"Kernel Version:

Darwin kernel Version 9.2.0: Sun Mar 2 00:11:08 SCT 2008; made by ToH:xnu-1228/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386"

now if i put the disc into my pc or other devices, it goes further than this, to the osx install GUI... anyone got any ideas why it's freezing at this point? I tried searching around and found nothing that could help me :(

I'm not hugely familiar with the mac installer process, not as much as a windows installer process anyway... but I am computer savvy so to speak, so I'd love some kind of help with this issue from you fine folks :)

*bump once again...* Just used JaS, this got me to the installer, but I've tried every conceivable setting with no luck. Now it will install osx but almost immediately reboot upon displaying the white apple logo screen, enabling -v doesn't help as the instant restart doesn't allow me to read any messages I'm getting.

Perhaps someone could lure me in the right direction as to what this problem might be?
