I have an AMD 64 3200+, ASROCK 939 Dual-SATA motherboard and an ATI Radeon 9600. I have to HD's, a 160GB HD that is a secondary HD and a 250GB as the primary. They are both on the same IDE cable using PATA. So I got MaC.OsX.10.4.5.Universal.Install.DVD(INTEL:AMD:SSE3:SSE2).iso and burned it onto a DVD. When I try to install, it says it can't find the root device, unless I enter rd=disk1s1, in which case it gets to the Kernel load, but then stalls there. It gives no errors, just stops once it gets to the Kernel section while I'm in verbose mode. I've tried all of the different options like safe mode and single user mode with no luck. If anybody has any idea why it isn't loading or what I can do to fix it that would be great. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, it may be to late, but the answer to your question could be that you have a dvdrom drive that is not compatible with macosx, if this is so you have two options, one being - buy a new dvdrom/rw or use vmware workstation to install it

hope that helps
