Sam Whitehall
I've just got a brand new Dell Mini 9, and it's awesome; and I'm thinking of installing OS X on it. I don't have an external disc drive but I see that it can be done using pen drives, although there are a few questions I'd like to ask; This guide here, http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...ives_to_install, suggests that I need TWO pen drives -- one with the boot software and the 'contents of your desired ISO image (not the image itself)' and another one which has a 'restored OS X' from. The first thing is, does that mean I need two 8GB pen drives? Aren't they both two copies of the same thing (unless I've mistaken what the OS X restore thing is)... but with one pen drive having a bootloader. I've seen on this forum that people have been just using an ISO on one pen drive and essentially doing a Type 11 install. If that's so, how do I boot off a pen drive without that Syslinux thing? Secondly, I've downloaded a slipstreamed ISO already (I have a retail copy as well, so I can have a clear conscience)... so would that be put on the first pen drive? Also, since my OS X is an iMac version, and the other is a slipstreamed, would that cause problems? Do I even need a slipstreamed one? Please help to deconfuse me. Thankyou in advance , Sam Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/143734-dell-mini-9-using-a-pen-drive/ Share on other sites
