Hi there,

I've tried to install 10.5.6 updpack several times but all failed. I've installed DSDT patches (while compiling the patch I got 31 warnings but no errors), and I cannot find AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext in ether extra extensions folder or /System/Library/Extensions. I've tried disabler.kext but no luck (is that PM disabler?)

Thx for possible help.

Raiden,

Can/have you run the Voodoo kernel? That automatically blacklists IntelPowerManagement so you don't need any disablers or anything.

How do you mean failed, what errors are you getting?

Well I used disabler.kext but it just prevents me from entering the system

and when i install the update the system crashes (like kernel panic)

Raiden,

Hi RaidenII,

Lets make your installation easier.

It sounds that you had Leopard before, it's an upgrade that tangle things down.

Try have a check on MysticusC (salute !) - theres a very good article he wrotes.

1. Download a package named "Archive . . .", (pls check in MysticusC  ),

2. Extract it out and put it somewhere (there'll be 3 files - Prep/nForce/Post),

3. You already have 10.5.2?, 10.5.3?, 10.5.4? and maybe 10.5.5 = great, any of it should work,

4. Where is your Combo updates? download it from Apple - keep it next to #2 above,

5. There'll be an instructions written inside #1 above.

(*) Careful and be patient with steps - if not, you'll end-up "reinstalling" the whole thing.

RaidenII, I'm responding to this becaz you updated "several" times, and this one worth trying.

You see I'm doing the above steps for my C2Q6600, AMD64X24200+ and Inspiron 6400/E1505 and ALL of those machine works like a beast.

Good Luck, :hysterical:

Where exactly can one download these MysticusC combo update files? I see no direct link.

I need to update a Pentium 4 Hack of mine and can't do it without destroying my system. If this mystery MysticusC method would help, well, it would be awesome!
