tjenvy Posted December 12, 2008 Share Posted December 12, 2008 Ok so here is the story... Kalyway 10.5.2 runs EXTREMELY slow.. firewire networking wont work, but sata, audio, etc all working... INCLUDING FINAL CUT STUDIO ETC. iAtkos 10.5.4 boots good... runs most things well... final cut is good. WILL NOT WORK WITH SATA (it installs fine but then get the freaking root device error) and finally... iDeneb 10.5.4 to start... what a freaking great port... my system is all running on sats, boots in 11 seconds from power on (WOW) Most apps work.. FINAL CUT STUDIO (ALL APPS) wont work.. they boot fine and open.. but drag media into any of them... WHAM its crashed.... im getting in console and top of crash logs... Crash 0 "...ickTimeComponents.component" and console give me a general error... I have tried all the usual tricks... Ethernet is en0 Changed smbios to the netkas, the 800 (my mem speed) and another one I even used the AMD update util to 10.5.5 now it boots in 8 seconds... but still no FCP I just don't understand how large of a gap in errors ON THE SAME MACHINE each setup uses. Any help would be greatly appreciated... I think I have attempted just about everything I can think of... so anyone with the same problem?? a solution?? Setup is.... AMD 64 X2 2.2GHz 5GB Ram (pc 2700) gigabit ethernet PCI onboard Realtek Audio Nvidia 8500GT 256 PCIe dvdRW DL +- SATA Seagate 500GB SATA hmmm Ok think thats it.... Anxiously Awaiting Replies SOLVED!!! YIPEEE ok to anyone trying to figure this out with pro apps... heck even with idvd crashing on media import.... the bugger stopping it from working and crashing the pro apps was this... . QuickTimeComponents.component its in the /System/Library/Quicktime folder..... the fix?? Get marvins amd utility.... BUT do it this way use the first option which is make file or scan id or something... then use the 3rd option (the one with 2 option boxes like simulate or something <make sure its unchecked for the test part>) and use the cpuid file it made on the first one... everything is RUNNING FAST FAST FAST...... hope this helps everyone else!!!
