camdenbloke
I currently have a working install of Iatkos 5i. I'd like to clone this to a bigger disk. Can anybody tell me a simple way of doing this please? Thanks. Andy. enzo1
You can use CCC 3 (Carbon Copy Clone). Google it and you can download it from the net. It's a shareware (you try it and donate if you are happy). Hope this helps. mschilling
The iATKOS dvd when you boot from it, lets you restore from backup. Would this work to clone a system? I realize that you have to reinstall the bootloader, but is it as simple as that? Seems like the mac way to do it. enzo1
I'm not shure. what you can also do is restore from a Timemachine Backup. But in this case, you have to re-install your bootloader. As far as I have seen and read, CCC will make a perfect clone of your system and alow you to recover everything. mschilling
I think CCC needs to have the same bootloader reinstallation as TM backup restore, so what is the advantage of using CCC? It would be great if someone modified CCC for hackintosh, and integrate bootloader reinstallation. Or, better yet, modify TM to do the same thing. The advantage of TM is that it is part of the OS and doesn't require a manual backup before restore, as long as you have TM working, which I have connected to my system full time.
