I'm currently using a stable XP install on one drive, and I'm attempting to dual boot a second drive with Mac OSX and Ubuntu.

When I attempt to install Mac OSX with Kalyway 10.5.2, I get the notorious 'Still waiting for root device' error. I am trying to install Mac OSX on a Western Digital SATA drive, which I know causes problems. Do I need to inject SATA drivers into the installation? How do I fix this issue?

Here are the specs for my build:

CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66Ghz 8MB

Mobo - Gigabyte GA-EP45-EXTREME

RAM - CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800

GPU - EVGA 512-P3-N873-AR GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB

Power Supply - Corsair TX750W 750-Watt

Well I don't think that the HD is your problem, I have this Western Digital SATA drive with Mac OS X installed on it running perfectly (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136073)

Try using Leo4All or another OSx86 distro.

I've tried a few distros, including iatkos and Leo4All, and I still am getting the same 'still waiting for root device' error.

Do you think it might be because I'm trying to install Mac OSX on an entirely separate hard drive, rather than on a partition of my existing WinXP drive?
