sbl03
It seems like no matter what I do I can't even get past the black screen of death. A whole week of failures. I've done Kalyway 10.5.2 w/ patch, and Leo4Allv4.1. I have a secondary hard drive that is my MAC OSX drive. AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition 2.4GHz What is the recommended configuration in the BIOS on the peripherals? I've looked at a lot of things but none of them seem to work out for me. I've looked at threads with DS3 motherboards in them as well, except they were Intel motherboards. Is my motherboard even possible to run OSX on? Hi there I'm running Kalyway 10.5.2 on this mainboard without problem, just check your mouse & keyboard are usb ( don't use PS2 through the installation process) and if you'r using sata HDD just change the Bios setting to Native IDE mode. good lock Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/137904-gigabyte-ga-ma770-ds3-amd-motherboard-impossible/#findComment-1004071 Share on other sites

OfficerJackMehoff
It is possible. You need to use a sata DVD drive and sata HDD and have your sata controller set to AHCI. I've got a GA-MA770 DS3, Phenom 9550, a Radeon HD 3850 all properly functioning with all 4 cores/sound/QE CI/dual monitors/nearly everything perfectly functional with iPC 10.5.6 PPF5. Make sure when you customize your install you select the chipset driver labeled 'VIA' something or other (the one with a description that says it works for SB chipsets), choose the video driver which is closest to your card, the ALC888 sound driver, and choose the R1000 ethernet driver. When you boot up for the first time, boot with the -x option. You should have network support, so navigate to netkas.org and search for the universal nvidia ati injector/enabler. After which you should have decent video support, and a nearly completely functional hac. These are the things I did to get my system to work. edit: lol btw it took me about 15 tries to figure out this process, so it might be different for you.. eMP3Danie
Im using the same MOBO and I hope your still looking for a solution im using a older proc to you (Check the Sig) and I had no problems installing at all... Im not sure what you mean by the black screen of death as im pretty new to the mac OS. If you mean that you have installed but cant see the desktop then Im pretty sure its the GFX drivers... which card do you have? If you get to install everything but cant boot... Try booting on a drive that contains nothing but the OSX installation. The Settings in my bios are pretty much stock other than I clock my proc from 2.8 to 3.34. 1 Thing I did notice upon my 15 or so installs was that once the CMOS was reset to default the Mobo set the Display first to PCI instead of PCIe which stopped me installing... Seemed to of stopped the detection of drives. Anyway... If your still struggling with this Id like to help as much as possible as I have struggled myself for a couple of days, It is however worth while...
