I successfully built a Hackintosh, and tried Kalyway, Ideneb, and iatkos - all worked - but I chose boot 132 as it worked with 10.5.5 and allowed all updates...

(just a little history)

Previously, I had the wireless working on the P5W DH deluxe motherboard that includes the Realtek rtl8187 chipset with drivers from Realtek - but they do not work on 10.5.5 ... weird.

The Marvel Yukon wired network works great! BUT I would like to know if anyone has and success with 8187 using boot132 and 10.5.5

Thanks!!

I have the same motherboard and ran in the same issues and then some,

installing the just the package, uninstalling, searching the boards,

until I did a little tweaking:

1. Installed retail 10.5.5 with the EFI partition

2. Downloaded the driver package from Realtek and went through the whole thing until I found rtl8187.kext which I extracted.

3. installed the rtl8187.kext on the EFI partition /Volumes/EFI/Extensions (in one of the howtos)

4. installed the wireless package which installed everything like before.

5. Viola! at least for me the wireless Lan now works.

hope that helps

Ok - so how do I install EFI? I tried Chameleon 1.0.11 and it killed my install and I had to re-install... IS EFI installed with retail install

YES... I am a NOOB - but not new to any kind of computer system... just Hackintosh for now... excuse my lack of knowledge.

if applying EFI or chameleon doesn´t work, there is no need to reinstall. as soon you do it correctly it will boot again. for all other questions - a better search engine http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=00948655...297:e41g72sr-ba
