rockford2
I've got a Acer Aspire 5610 which works great with Kalyway 10.5.2, but with some problem. I noticed in Flash like youtube, the video is quite jerky, but for some reason if I move the mouse cursor it then seems to be OK. Not sure if I'm trying my luck, but I installed Diablo II and it's getting like lag spikes, like every few seconds if kind of stops for a bit, whether using OpenGL or Software mode. I looked in my System Profiler and it says Intel GMA 950: Chipset Model: GMA 950 Type: Display Bus: Built-In VRAM (Total): 64 MB of shared system memory Vendor: Intel (0x8086) Device ID: 0x27a2 Revision ID: 0x0003 Displays: Display: Resolution: 1280 x 800 Depth: 32-bit Color Built-In: Yes Core Image: Hardware Accelerated Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Supported Display Connector: Status: No display connected so all looks ok? mschilling
Mine does have some problems with playing some video, especially the Apple informercials for some reason. It doesn't seem to have the same problem with regular youtube. How does yours play the higher quality youtube (MP4 shown on better youtube videos)? rockford2
Mine does have some problems with playing some video, especially the Apple informercials for some reason. It doesn't seem to have the same problem with regular youtube. How does yours play the higher quality youtube (MP4 shown on better youtube videos)? Funnily enough I'm ok on the Apple infomercials. YouTube though seems to be even more jerkier frame rates when watching HiGh Quality videos, but when you move the mouse, it's fine playing 100% smooth, but as soon as you stop moving, it's jerky again. This only applies to full screen though. Normal video size is fine. Are there any other drivers around for GMA 950 to help speed graphics up? mschilling
Not sure about other drivers. Did you check off a GMA950 driver when you installed Kaly? I can't remember if it was included with that release, but I installed the GMA950 driver when I first installed my iATKOS 10.5.4, and it is supposed to stop "mouse tearing". I believe that my video will work without that driver, and I'm curious if the problems that I'm having would be the same without installing that driver. rockford2
In my case, I'm using Kalyway and I do remember I did tick the GMA 950 driver during the Kalyway install. I had mouse tearing problems initially but I found some topic here from insanelymac forum which fixed it I think it was some kext. But I know, whether the mouse tearing was fixed or not, I always had this jerky Flash playing problem in places like YouTube etc. Also, as the only game I've tried so far, Diablo II have similar problems as well. It's by no means a huge issue but annoying nevertheless. My take is this has nothing to do with mouse tearing.
