miliuco
"...9 sec from boot to fully loaded!..." I believe you, my PC boots in 20 sec. (counting from power on) and 14 (without the BIOS check) and, in the same PC, Windows XP loads in 45 / 38 sec., and your PC has a faster chip. As far as turning off time, Tiger takes 6 sec. and XP takes 10 sec. Tiger x86 seems to be always faster than XP. declan
I can tell you my friends 17 PPC Powerbook boots in about 17 secs.. When i first installed it took 6 or 7 seconds, but now after alot installed its about 10 seconds, still blows a loaded windows setup out the water.. arcadeape.com
SO i dont get it your timing your boot up times, and comparing it to being as useful as a powerbook.. but still isnt this a hacked version for the best use of the word. I mean how many programs can you actually run on it....and how usefully really is it? liverpool03
not trying to brag or anything...just merely contributing to the convo...my system boots up 10.4.3 in less than 9...i'd guess 7-8 secs.....i was so suprised when it first booted (Yesterday)....and that's off an ATA66 HD...i can only imagine how fast it would be with my raptor Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13565-pentium-d-805-booting-in-9-seconds/#findComment-86818 Share on other sites

But even then i know its cool to get it up and running, hence why i want to do it. But really what programs and how functional is the OS?! Do I disable my soundblaster X-Fi first, then go into BIOS and enable AC97?
