I spent the last 2 days reading posts and nothing is helping me understand why I am getting a:

System config file '/com.apple.boot.s/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found .

This is why I am asking:

What is com.apple.Boot.plist purpose?

I can not find the com.apple.Boot.S directory. Where is it located?

Thank you!

just try looking in:

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/

there should be a com.apple.Boot.plist file there. if not i can upload the contents of a very basic one.

it gives information about what kernel flags to boot with, etc.

  • 1 month later...

I got the same error and couldn't boot. But i could boot from my osx86 iatkos 10.5.5 dvd using the rd=disk0s1 flag.

Tried OSX86Tools and reinstalling Chameleon, tried rewriting the MBR in -s mode, cause i was getting a boot0 mbr error or something too sometimes, tried reinstalling the Darwin bootloader. Tried marking partition active. Tried repairing permissions and disk. Tried stuff with the com.apple.Boot.plist file. Nothing worked. Then i went in my bios and saw my dvd drive was the primary/first boot device. so i changed it to my osx86 drive and it booted! I really dont know what happened. I was logging off of 10.5.6 and system froze. Then i got the stupid error. But it is working super great now! And i have the crappiest hardware too!
