OSX for Montevina

When I tried to install Kayl's(sp) OSX on my new laptop, it went through properly. However, when OSX started, I got a gray screen of death. It was explained to me that OSX did not support the components I had for Montevina as yet but it would soon after the release of the new macbooks. Is this true? Will I be able to install OSX now?
