Hi,

I'm planning to update from 10.5.2 Kalyway installed MacOS to 10.5.5 with a Gigabyte EP45-DS4. I was told that

I can use the built-in software updater, only need to use IntelCPUPMDisabler.kext before it.

(it is similar as removing AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext manually)

My question is, that after a successful update (I hope ;) ) can I remove this kext, so the CPU Power Management

will be back, or have I keep it installed, and forget about the power management feature?

Thank you!

Then the power management won't function properly?

Is it means that the CPU cores will be operating at full throttle all the time?

Full throttle. But this community provides an alternative. Search for Superhai's Generic CPU management kext in the new releases forum.

Still beta, but works for alot of people already. And you don't have to remove the kext as you have a disabler in place.
