drumthrasher109
Well I want to try and put OS X on this Dell E521 with the following specs: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ @ 2.1GHz 1GB RAM 1x250GB SATA HDD 1xSATA DVD-ROM 1xSATA CDRW/DVD-ROM I put the disc in, wait a little bit, and it says Still Waiting for Root Device. I've looked at the BIOS, and there isn't anything I can change that could help. I always have a Leo4allv4 DVD I could try some other time as well. MacNutty
The root device i.e. from which you are booting should be primary drive. Change your DVD drive to first channel on sata.
drumthrasher109
I don't remember seeing anything in there about it (in the BIOS). Would this might have to do with the cable configuration?
nickll9009
I'm having this problem too on my HP Pavillion s3200n, I try to boot up Kalyway 10.5.2 and I get "Still Waiting For Root Device". I hope I don't have to open up my computer, I really don't wanna screw anything up.

Jack Manlosa
thats something to do wih the cable configuration. put the dvd rom to SATA0 labelled on your motherboard. that is something can't be change in BIOS. you;d have to do it from the mother board config.
