iDeneb OS X 10.5.5 on Acer Travelmate 8200

I had to jump through some hoops to get this installed. The installer won't run on this laptop because the AppleIntel8254 Ethernet kext causes the system to halt. I had to install from another machine, remove that kext and then copy the drive onto this laptop. Now when I boot I get further but still gets hung - here's the error it stops on now.

 

localhost configd[53]: InterfaceNamer: timed out waiting for IOKit to quiesce

localhost configd[53]: InterfaceNamer: no network interfaces, could not update platform UUID

Basic hardware specifications:

Intel Core Duo T2500 (2.0 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2 MB L2 Cache)

Intel 945PM Chipset

15.4" WSXGA+ TFT LCD

ATi Mobility Radeon X1600 256 MB GDDR3 (upto 512 MB with Hypermemory)

120 GB 5400rpm SATA HDD

2 GB DDR2-667 (2x 1GB MB sticks with dual channel support)

Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG + Bluetooth

Intel Pro/1000 Ethernet

 

Some details that may be helpful, this is the output of "prtconf -pv" on solaris:
