Yaris Posted October 1, 2008 Share Posted October 1, 2008 I just bought a new 640GB SATA drive to replace the IDE hard drive I had before. I put the hdd in and booted up the kalyway dvd (10.5.2). It boots fine but when I try to format the drive in disk utility, it gives an error that says "file system formatting error" or something like that. The drive works fine because I installed xp on it yesterday. I think I might have to change some settings in the BIOS but I am not sure what. My system uses a Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L with 4GB ram.
