Dxn
After spending the better part of a week, I have finally declared complete success in installing Leopard 10.5.5 on my PC. Because I have been doing all of my testing on a defective hard drive, I have been able to streamline the install process purely from repetition. System Specs: AMD Athlon X2 6000+ 8 GB 800 MHz DDR2 ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe nVidia GeForce 9800 GTX 512Mb On-Board LAN and Audio 320Gb Seagate (SATA2) HDD LG SATA DVD Burner Here are the options I selected for the Leo4All v4.1 install: Chipset: NForceTest Audio: Azalia_ADI1988 AboutThisMac EFI Kernel: Kernel-9.4.0 EFI SMBIOS: SMBIOS-800 EFI ACPIPlatform: 1.1.0 EFI Bootloader I did not install any video drivers, network drivers, or non-EFI options during the initial install Here's a list of the drivers I used (Click the credit link for the driver download): Networking: nForceEthernetController.kext (Thanks MikeInNS) * Note * I had to add the cpus=1 boot flag in order to prevent occasional lock-ups when downloading large files Audio: Taruga_AD1988b_rev3_installer (installed AFTER the Azalia_ADI1988 driver) (Thanks Taruga for making it and Xomiak for reposting it) Then after using ASU to upgrade to 10.5.5 (read a guide so you can avoid the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext issue), Video: 9f23installer.pkg (Selected 8800 GT as the video driver) (Download Here. Special thanks to aqua-mac for his tremendous contributions. This installer just makes the configuration a little easier) and finally, I used OSX86Tools (thanks PCWiz) to create a custom EFI string so that my graphics card shows up properly in System Profiler. I will post more detailed instructions/screenshots at a later date.
