warrenk
Hello everyone: I encountered few problems with 10.5: Sleep not fully working: OSX can only be waked up by pressing power button, not mouse or keyboard yet. How can I fix this to make it support mouse and keyboard waking? Power LED not blinking during sleep mode: it flashes about twice or three times and then is off after starting sleep mode, not blinks(fades in and out) as a real Mac does. Restart not fully working: it fully properly works only before running sleep mode, once after waking up from sleep mode, it can't automatically reboot, it keeps staying in no signal screen after quitting OSX. How can I fix this to get it working correctly? Shut down not fully working: hard disk and power LED shut down with no signal screen as normal but graphic card fan and all other fans don't stop spinning. How can I fix this? I've gained few results from tested different kernels for these issue myself before I post here: The conclusion is: None of 5 kernels works 100% properly. test environment: 10.5.5 / official 9.5 kernel / official 10.5.5 system.kext / AppleACPIPlatform.kext(downloaded from Karaakeha1's guide) sleep result a : VGA signal off, hard disk shuts down-->about 15 seconds later, fans stop, power LED flash twice or three times and then off-->can wake up with power button but neither mouse nor keyboard. sleep result b : VGA signal off, hard disk shuts down-->fans, power LED keep ON-->can't wake up with mouse, keyboard, even power button. restart result a : it properly works only before sleep, once after sleep, no automatically reboot, it keeps staying in no signal screen after quitting OSX. shut down result a : VGA signal off, hard disk shuts down, power LED off, fans don't stop, whether before or after sleep. shut down result b : VGA signal, hard disk, power LED and fans all off, whether before or after sleep. ------------9.5_official-------9.4_modbin-------vanilla_9.2.2-------9.2.2_kabyl-------9.2_sleep ________________________________________________________________________________ sleep---------a --------------b --------------a --------------a --------------a ________________________________________________________________________________ restart--------a --------------a --------------a --------------a --------------a ________________________________________________________________________________ shut down----a --------------b --------------a --------------a --------------b ________________________________________________________________________________ Am I using wrong mach_kernel(vanilla), ACPI, system, SMBIOS kexts, BIOS setting or something? overflow1972
try this kext for restart/shutdown. It solved my shutdown problem (like yours) and even the restart is working perfectly. let me know.......regards
warrenk
Well, overflow1972, It didn't work for me this time, am I missing something? I installed this OpenHaltRestart.kext by dragging it into extensions folder and doing chmod chown for this kext and then rebooted, ran sleep, woked it up, rebooted again, it still kept staying in no signal screen after quitting OSX, so still no automatic reboot after sleep. Please help. Thanks.
