Hey,

Nvidia 8400 GS works with NVInject patch. Download here

DVI output needs NVCAP edit:

1- Right Click /System/Library/Extensions/NVInject.kext choose "Show Package Contents" Copy Info.plist to ~/Desktop

2- Open Info.plist copy with Plist Editor

3- Replace NVCAP string with 04000000 00000300 04000000 00000007 00000000

4- Save copy of info.plist and copy back to NVInject.kext contents

I have 256mb so I have to download Latest_NVinject.0.2.1.zip

p.s.

Also you are saying if I find NVinject for 256mb in my leopard 10.5.2 installation, I don't need to download Latest_NVinject.0.2.1.zip. Thanks for all your help, I let you know how it worked out.

Yeah, if you selected it in the installation you don't have to download it again.

hey 3dman thanks for all your help, I cannot get my Nvidia 8400 GS to work so I buy a ATI Radeon HD 2600pro PciE 256mb which works with different size of display but I am looking for 1680x1050 display, because I am using a sceptre LCD x22" wide screen.

Thank you.

  • 2 months later...

hey I have this card, and it gives me tearing at any resolution higher than 1360x768. I don't know what direction to take to resolve this, but Id' like higher res. my card however only is a 256mb - I attempted EFIstudio, but I couldn't figure it out, and I reverted to my NVinject ideneb 10.5.5 video patch. I did edit it with that code from above, but I already could see the other res. in my display prefs, but tearing, like I said.

Any opinions will be appreicated.

Kenny
