shordinges
Im trying to get mac osx leopard onto my custom pc. here is my hardware: Intel core 2 quad 2.66 GHz Q9450 EVGA 780i mobo HDD 1: 750GB SATA HDD 2: 100GB PATA EVGA 8600 GT 512 DDR3 LG DVD Burner PATA 2 GB Patriot Ram ATTEMPT 1: (with only the sata hdd in) First i tried the iATKOS v1.0i and it would go to the darwin boot (press f8 for advanced yada yada yada) or just press enter and i pressed enter and the computer would imediatly reboot. ATTEMPT 2: tried the Kalyway 10.5.2. pressed enter at darwin and it went thru boot code and eventually hit: FireWire unable to determine security mode: defaulting to full secure, still waiting for root device ATTEMPT 3: went into bios and disabled IEEE 1394. tried kalyway again. this time it went to something like USBF: will unload at sleep or something like that, still waiting for boot device. ATTEMPT 4: went into bios and disabled USB (yeah i was desprate) then it didnt say anything but did eventually say still waiting for boot device. ATTEMPT 5: went into bios and enabled firewire and usb and saved and exit. this time i unplugged the sata hard drive and plugged in the pata hard drive. i get the firewire error again. there seems to be a hundred different installers out there and kexts but i dont know what i need. i have spent over 20 hours these last 2 days trying to get this woking. the reason why im trying this is because a friend of mine says macs are god and nothing is better but before i pork over 5 grand for a macbook pro i want to try it first. please tell me step by step on how to fix this. i have read many tutorials all over the internet but all of thoes install without a hitch. when it comes to mine it seams that i have hit every problem possible. i have read where my mobo has been able to install kalyway a few times so i know its compatible. cpuz says my q9450 is compatible (SSE2 SSE3 or whatever they were) i have read that the sata drives have issues for install so thats why i went with the pata drive. i tried the -v cpus=1 in both iatkos and kalyway. thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119777-what-is-the-best-way-for-me/ Share on other sites
Gujal
Your Motherboard is based on nForce 780i which is too new for iAtkos 1.0i. You need atleast 1.0ir3 There is nothing wrong with your firewire or USB. The issue is with the nForce chipset harddisk controller. Read MysticusC's excellent thread on how to install Kalyway 10.5.2, iAtkos 1.0ir3, or iAtkos 2.0i on nForce motherboards Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119777-what-is-the-best-way-for-me/#findComment-848148 Share on other sites
