well here it goes

I have OSX 10.4.8 installed on my Acer Aspire 5100 and i want to upgrade to 10.5.2

I installed 10.4.8 from Uphuck JaS 10.4.8 AMD Intel SSE2 SSE3 everything installed ok in that the operating runs with out hanging. there is no sound or internet. But i digress this isn't my problem. I want to upgrade it to 10.5.2 i have Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD Intel_Amd and this guide http://sadgeekblog.blogspot.com/.

The guy in the guide has the same computer i have so i know this can work. when i put the Kalway disk in and reboot, its runs the load up ruteen until it just stops and after a minute it comes up with "still waiting for root device" that repeats every few minuets

I read in the forms that this can be caused by a bad burn, but i know this is not the case because this computer i am using was installed from the very same disk. also from passed experience i know that it can be finicky when the HD and the DVD Drive are on the IDE but the person in the guide doesn't mention any special setup. i am almost sure this is the problem because i put a DVD drive on a USB-IDE thing <technical term i know) and my laptop HD on my portable USB HD thing <there is that thing thing again) and i was able to install the OS. however when i put the HD back in my laptop, during boot it hangs in the same place with the same message "still waiting for root device" I just have no idea how to fix it.

I am at my wits end. Please help.
