JimBob
Microsoft Office 2004 is also available, though not in an a universal binary yet. It works though. You can do a free trail. xiberia
this has been covered a few times. basically, you can use OpenOffice, Microsoft Office 2004, ThinkFree Office, AppleWorks, iWork etc etc... any office suite really, because even though they're not unibins, they work fine under rosetta. you don't need supa-speedy if you're typing a letter why couldn't you get OpenOffice to work? Were you using the intel version? do you have X11 installed? (Btw, I've become a big fan of Microsoft Office 2004, its MUCH better than MS Office on the PC. Or.. different, anyhow. I'm well impressed, kudos to the Microsoft Mac team) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11944-office-software/#findComment-75747 Share on other sites
suleiman
I have to agree with you xiberia, the Office Suite for the Mac platform has a better gui, is less prone to crashes, and in the words of the Microsoft Mac team, is "Aquafied" (read: not boring XP colors) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11944-office-software/#findComment-75758 Share on other sites

39thRonin
(Btw, I've become a big fan of Microsoft Office 2004, its MUCH better than MS Office on the PC. Or.. different, anyhow. Peraps it is the interface or the controls that are sort of forced on the programers, but the feel of all the apps is seriously good. I have never run into any speed issues with the ppc version of 2004 that I use. I've used all the apps pretty extensively and they just work... That said, I really hate the icons! A Nonny Moose
Sadly, no. I don't have a mactel to test it on. It seems that nobody with a Mactel or a Haxintosh wants to test such an interesting suite out either.
