flare389
My kalyway/xp setup stopped working several weeks ago and I ended up formating the XP partition to reinstall it. I cannot seem to access my OSX partition using the methods I know of; through XP using MacDrive and using the kalyway cd to try and mount it. Are there any methods or Windows software that can retrieve data from a corrupt Mac hard drive? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119141-how-can-i-retrieve-data-from-a-corrupt-hard-drive/ Share on other sites

flare389
I found this program called Stellar Phoenix Macintosh and it found all my data but they expect me to pay $180 to actually retrieve it. ja_line
Sure, you do not need to pay money for that solution, try FREE mac data recovery called Disk Drill, i've read a lot of good reviews on Macupdate.com Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119141-how-can-i-retrieve-data-from-a-corrupt-hard-drive/#findComment-1573405 Share on other sites
srs5694
What precisely is the problem with the disk? Is the partition table damaged, or is it a filesystem problem? Is the hardware physically failing, or is there just bad data that's blocking access to your files? The proper solution will depend on the answers to these questions, and attempting a solution without first understanding the causes could just make matters worse. If necessary, run some SMART. diagnostics to determine whether or not there's a hardware problem involved, as a first step. muchlife
i downloaded disk warrior 4 (found hotfile or rapidshare links) and it worked great for me. i was able to recover 100% of my files from a drive that had a corrupt partition table whatever you do, DO NOT try to write or save files to the damaged drive, you could overwrite files you were trying to save or rescue Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119141-how-can-i-retrieve-data-from-a-corrupt-hard-drive/#findComment-1594146 Share on other sites
