PeterHaas
I was wondering if it is possible to install OSX86 on a partition on an external HD connected via esata. Sure, with the usual caveats about powering the drive on before you power the 'puter on. On my G4s, I use an INITIO controller card. On my X86s, I use an iSATA-to-eSATA internal cable and bracket which I found on ePay, plus an eSATA-to-iSATA external cable which I also found on ePay. My external SATA cases actually have an iSATA connector on them. That's the way LaCie made them. The LaCie PCI card (external SATA only, but the connections are iSATA) uses the same INITIO chip and firmware as the Other World Computing PCI card (external and internal SATA, in any combination, with iSATA connectors for internal drives and eSATA connectors for external drives). The gender-bending SATA cable (iSATA-to-eSATA, but both being external) came from Hong Kong, but was well made and cost only a few dollars.
