nac6
Hey, I have installed iATKOS_4i on a HP nc6320 laptop. Installed as follows:- I did a clean secure erase of the hard disk using the bios utility. Disabled Dual Core in bios. Booted DVD. Partitioned using OS extended (journaled), GUID. Installed OS, selected drivers for video, speedstep, sata, and network. Booted fine but no audio. so i then. Installed AppleAzaliaAudioADI1981_Installer.v2 utility. Deleted AppleAC97Audio.kext Rebooted. Fixed. Installed all software updates as of at 2-Aug-2008 . Rebooted OK. So, outstanding issues:- Dual Core is not working. If I enable it, the system hangs after booted. Standby doesn't work. The system hangs if I try to enter sleep mode. Keyboard "Windows" Key is not mapped to the Apple Command key. Not a big issue. Any help please? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118871-installed-iatkos_4i-on-a-hp-nc6320/ Share on other sites
skgunner
why you disable dual core at the first place? If you have a cpu(do u have a T7200 or T5600?) comes with sse3 and a intel chipset, you can install the vanilla kernel (stock kernel) without problems. I have installed v4i,works fine. what i did:enable daul core, disable intel VT in bios and enable/on "executive disable bit" in bios;(if you have them); choose mainsystem, darwinbootloader with pc_evi v8;all stock files(acpi and stock 9.4.0 kernel) so you will get the vanilla kernel from apple.and addtional drivers your system needs. don't choose any other kernel like toh, speedstep kernel (if u choose speedstep kernel, sleep will have issues). actually you can use the vanilla 9.4.0 kernel, sleep and speedstep(by install the application named CoolbookController) if you can't get the daul core work, maybe single core will be fine. good luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118871-installed-iatkos_4i-on-a-hp-nc6320/#findComment-844168 Share on other sites
nac6
I had to disable Dual core as the system hung (VT is off as default). I might reinstall again and try a few different options. So I choose the top 4 options on the custom install. So should I also enable drivers? (IE. SATA, Video, Intel speed step and network) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118871-installed-iatkos_4i-on-a-hp-nc6320/#findComment-844225 Share on other sites

You'll get dual core with a hacked kernel with "tscsync.patch.tar.gz". But I had troubles with it, OK dual core were on, also in activity monitor but when using much cpu power it got faulty (ie Parallels)...I sold the NC6320 with Intel945 and bought the one in my signature with Intel965 chip, much better Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118871-installed-iatkos_4i-on-a-hp-nc6320/#findComment-844807 Share on other sites
