dbldown768
I started by following the guide here: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...DualBoot_10.5.2. The partition i made in windows was a primary partition on my c: drive. Once I got to the disk utilities inside of OS X, I was only able to ERASE as a MAC OS X extended Journal format - not sure if this was correct. At the time of install, when i clicked customize, i added the X1000 video drivers because i have an ATI X1400 video card. Everything seemed to install correctly. I then used the chain0 approach for that tutorial to create the boot menu at startup. When i reboot, i see the prompt to select either XP or OS X. After selecting OSX i am them at the darwin boot screen. I have to then select F8 to pict the OSX partition to boot. When i tried to boot, I get either a crazy white screen with lines on it, or if i booted from "-x" the screen turned black. I saw in order to solve the problem I am supposed to login in standalone mode "-s" and use the movemoviedrivers script. However, I have a problem with this. When i tried the "mount -uw" command in standalone, it suggests that my partition is still only read only. I have tried "mount -fuw" and still no luck. I am not sure if i skipped any steps along the way, i feel I am very close to getting it to work, just need some added help. My specs are as follows: E1505 T7200 dual core processor 4 gigs ram ati x1400 video card Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118782-install-help-on-e1505-dell-black-screen/ Share on other sites
dbldown768
seems i may have typed the mount command wrong. Now i used "mount -uw /" and it loaded the ati drivers, however, now I am in a constant rebooting phase? Any suggestions.... seems as if i can boot into safe mode sometimes, or even into normal mode, however i keep getting prompted for registration. Is there a way NOT to register - there has to be. I cannot boot into standalone mode anymore for some reason. I keep getting SIGFPE 1 and it reboots.
