Howdy all, I have a nice install of Leopard 10.5.2 (Kalaway for AMD) and I am so happy with it. This version worked 10 times better on my PC than uPhuck 10.4.8 did, I am beside myself with how quick it runs.

I only have one qick question about it. My friend here at work has a real 'Mac Book' and when he boots it up there is a little jingle that plays when the desktop opens. I have never heard this on any of my Hackintosh installs, is there a way to get this to play on my system?

Thanks in Advance.

A 'Jingle when the desktop loads'? That's not part of the default setup of any mac, unless you're on about the Startup Chime on loading the EFI (Which is unavailable on most BIOSes)

However, you SHOULD be able to add your own jingle when the desktop loads by putting an audio file in /library/StartupItems/

You could always just buy a tape recorder, record it, and play back at the exact time you press the power button on your PC...

Make a true hackintosh...

HAHAHAHAHAHA, Good one, I like that. In fact I just helped my friend replace the HD on his Mac Book, and when he turned it on is when I actually heard the sound. That told me right there that its built into the ROM of the Mac. So looks like I'm S.O.L. That's OK, I have a VERY nice Hackintosh running very fast so I'm happy.

Thanks for the help.

here you go...i found it a while back...it's very very difficult to find so i attached the .prefPane

-i hope that's ok...

the startup sound only works if you use the login window though. and for me my PC shuts down so fast that it doesn't play the shutdown sound.

enjoy!
