On the boards in topic DQ35JO and DQ965GF. After reading so many threads of people getting it working and not getting it working (including myself) I have found the common denominator. Video cards. I have been using internal video and it apparently causes those errors and a kernel panic. I overcame this by installing an old BFG Nvidia 6600 GT I had laying around and guess what? It passed those flawless into the GUI!!!!!! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/117746-solution-for-dq35jo-and-dq965gf/ Share on other sites
LVNeptune
I really think this should be stickied. This is a common issue people are having on newer intel boards. I have tested this on two different boards with the same results. Khan_Man
LVNeptune, I think U are absolutely right. I fot for a whole day trying to get a DQ965GF board to load Uphuck 10.4.9 v1.3 and Kalyway 10.5.2 with no go. I read your post, slapped a 7600GT in the computer and all of a sudden things started to happen. Seems like the GMA3000 isn't compatable, even in VESA mode. I also had to load from a USB DVD drive but that might have been my f*ckup. Now have Kalyway running pretty well. Most things are working but network seems like it ain't gonna go. I think I'm gonna have to resort to a PCI NIC. LVNeptune
At least someone found this useful (I don't think anyone believed me!) Whatever chipset the LAN is I believe is not compatible, I'm using some cheapo WUSB54GC for internet right now on it. So far I have tested this on a DQ965GF and DQ35JO Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/117746-solution-for-dq35jo-and-dq965gf/#findComment-868261 Share on other sites

megaprimal
I am getting this exact same error on my laptop after installing Ikatos 10.5. I have a Geforce 9800MGTS 1GB card.... Anything aside from video that may be causing it? Any suggestions for Configuration settings that could isolate whether it is a card issue or something more? el_don
Had the same problem with my Maxdata integrated DQ35JOEMX1-Board. Always "waiting for boot device". The I installed another PCI-E graphic card (in this case a Maxtor P690) and chose "External PCI-E Graphic Device" in the BIOS Options... and voila: It booted into the Mac OS X installation. I used the IDeneb 10.5.5 distribution. Hope that helps a bit. Nicola77
Same error, sometimes it came up, on a notebook Acer Aspire 5738G with integrated NVidia GeForce G105M (512MB). How could I fix this? Surely I cannot add a PCI-E video card... Any suggestion?
