greyhathacker45
Has anyone tried using/modifying the new Intel Mac Mini kexts with osx86? I think the new Minis ship with a 915. Can we modify those kexts to make them work on other Intel chips? And as an after thought... would those be with the most recent release of Darwin? They would be so much more useful if we had the source. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11623-mac-mini-video-kexts/ Share on other sites

labria
I'm pretty sure in uses just the same kext found in 10.4.5 - which by the way doesn't work, I had to replace it with the one from 10.4.4 to make my video back again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11623-mac-mini-video-kexts/#findComment-72897 Share on other sites
munky
GMA950 is the onboard graphics. i suspect the mini will have a 945 chipset, like the iMac, but i'm too lazy to check. Probably: I suppose GMA950 requires at least a 945Express Chipset: http://www.intel.com/design/mobile/gma950.htm Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11623-mac-mini-video-kexts/#findComment-72959 Share on other sites
nemattoad
If it uses a core duo, it will probably be the 945PM chipset. http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/945pm/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11623-mac-mini-video-kexts/#findComment-72970 Share on other sites
