Bloodworth
I am trying to install OSX 10.5.1 (iatkos 1.0i dvd) onto my new computer which already has vista ultimate on it. I want to have both operating systems on seperate hard drives. I do not want to dual boot. I just want OSX on another hard drive to keep them seperate. my specs are motherboard: asrock 4coredual-sata2 CPU: intel core2 duo (conroe)E4500 2.2GHz (supports sse, sse2, sse3, ssse3, mmx, em64t) video card: nvidia 8800gts 320MB PCI-E RAM: 2GB pc2-5400 (DDRII) hard disks: 1. 80GB sata2 excelstor technology j8080s (has vista on it) 2. 20GB western digital 200 on the secondary ide port(the drive i want OSX on) and a dvd drive on the primary ide port. So my problem is that when i boot from the DVD, I get the 'press any key to install OSX' screen, so I hit f8 and type -v to see the diagnostics, and it loads 6 or so items then says 'starting darwin' or something similar and then promptly reboots. I tried disconnecting the sata drive and putting the hdd on the primary ide port and the dvd drive on the secondary port, but no luck. Any ideas?
