To get to the next screen networking must be fully functioning - it relates to how your internet access will work etc; without it - you dont have an account and all sorts of issues.

Try to sort out your networking issues and you should see the next screen (if not, the welcome app keeps crashing, reloading etc).

There are ways around the welcome kit, but you need to do a lot of manual work to create and setup uers etc.

1. Run single user mode using the -s flag while booting

2. Mount the file system when you boot

3. Change the root password using the command "passwd root"

4. Touch (create) the .AppleSetupDone file by typing "touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone"

5. Reboot and login with root and the password you just created

thats not a lot of work.... when you are logged in dont forget to create a standar user and block root access just for security

I have the same problem as mammon. What was the final solution? I have tried the steps from Betin, but it doesn't seem to have worked. I was able to change the password, and I typed the Touch code at the prompt. It didn't throw an error. However, when I reboot, I am right back in the same place... Can't get past the "Do You Already Own a Mac?" dialog.

Fixed it! I was able to boot into Safe Mode ("-x" at Boot Prompt) and then it successfully passed through the "Do You Already..." screen. I made my account and logged in with Safe Mode and I just restarted and am logged in in normal mode. Woo Hoo! Also, I did find some other helpful solutions to this problem: http://www.infinitemac.com/showthread.php?t=1566
